A Treat From Mr.Frost...
Monday, December 08, 2008 Edit This 1 Comment »So as everyone who knows me even a little bit knows (or should know), I love love love Robert Frost. The recent cold weather has put me in mind of this poem and I just thought I'd share it here for everyone else to enjoy too! Some think this poem has notes of impending suicide, so if you are one of those , please ignore. I ; however, think that Mr.Frost just appreciated the total stillness and silence that snow brings to the woods. How wonderful it feels to put yourself in the place of the narrator of this poem! Stay warm everyone!
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
-Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
