The First Days

We let Liam play on this mountainside/riverside playground for quite a while when we first got to Durango because he needed to blow off some energy and we had a few hours to kill before we could get into our house. I thought it was so cool that you could have a view while your kid plays at the playground. It made me want to live where there are mountains even more.
Liam did that big twisty slide over and over and over and over...

Late afternoon showers are common in the mountains. This one left a beautiful rainbow! We were very excited to be in such beautiful country.

Nana and Liam relaxing on day 1. You can't see it, but this dining table they are sitting at was so kick-butt. I want one just like it someday.

We decided it would be best to just be lazy on our first day. None of us had had much sleep and we thought resting might be good for Liam. WRONG. We figured out that Liam's behavior was waaay worse when we sat idle. We decided to hike to a nearby lake (which turned out to be a bust but is a whole other story!) , and on the way back Liam fell asleep in his "pack-pack helicopter." He LOVED riding in this, and it usually put him to sleep.

I saw this view quite a bit during our week in Colorado. So cute :)
