Ever Walked On A Lake?
Tuesday, March 22, 2011 Edit This 0 Comments »Well we have! We knew that Minnesota was the Land of 10,000 Lakes (really, they are everywhere), but we didn't think about what would happen to those lakes during the long cold winter. They freeze! This is Lake Calhoun which is one of the beautiful lakes right near downtown Minneapolis. We decided to go drive by it because when I was visiting last October it was very pretty and we wanted to see what it looked like in the winter. We were surprised to see that it was frozen and covered in snow, and even more surprised to see footprints all over it and a guy jogging across it! So, what did we do? We had to walk on it! Now, I'll admit that there were signs posted every 100ft or so saying DO NOT WALK ON THE ICE, but it truly was frozen solid at that time and we didn't walk very far (ice is slippery, lol). Now, if walking on a frozen lake isn't a good enough reason to come up here and visit us...I do not know what is! :)
