Time for the outside level of the party!

Nana Becca explaining that there were lots of these bags all around the yard and that they were each filled with anywhere from 1 to 10 coins! Everyone was to go find 2 and meet back up to open them. The kids listened really well and we discovered there were even enough for them all to go back for one more.

The awesome, amazing , beautiful drawings of my artist mom-in-law! She and Greg worked on this all morning. From one end of the sidewalk at our house the driveway they created a level just like in the real Mario game. It was complete with power-ups, all of Liam's favorite enemies, a mid way flag, and a castle at the finish flag! It was hands down, the best part of the party.
I completely underestimated the glorious imaginations of 5 year olds. All of the grown-ups had fun watching the kids.
One of the party favors: a chocolate mustache pop! Liam had seen these on Pinterest and my wonderful Mom made sure they happened!
These were the kids whose parents did not stay for the party. Since the party ended a full half hour early, we decided to bring them into the house and let them watch...what else?....some Mario!
After the party was over and the food (mostly) put away...
We all got down to some serious relaxing. It was crazy, but fun. Wild, but over fast. Stressful, but SO WORTH IT. Liam understands that we can't do a big party like this every year so I'm thinking dinner and a movie with a couple of best buds is in order next year. You should hear about the princess party Ms.Ginny thinks she's getting in January though....
