Volcano!

When Mom came to visit (waaay back at the beginning of July), she and Liam made building a "cano" a priority. They had talked about it for weeks, and Liam made sure they did it on one of the first days after she got here.

First, they covered an empty salsa jar in foil to create the volcano's shape. Then, they covered that in play dough.

Liam had never played with play dough before. He liked it very much.

This was one colorful cano.

Liam couldn't wait to see the "llama" come out. He leaned in very close and then quickly backed away once he saw the eruption! (Yes, we know that red food coloring would've made red lava, but we knew he wouldn't care!)

It was so much fun watching these two enjoy their volcano! They made it erupt over...

....and over...

...and over until we ran out of baking soda and vinegar! Not to worry, we went to Target to get some more the next morning. Also I'd like to add that that cookie sheet was looking pretty worn but all of that volcanic activity helped to shine it up nicely!

That's so awesome! And...it's good to know that "lava" will clean up those worn out pans. :)

I would not trade that "cano" making time for anything in the world. I am so glad we made the "cano". I am already thinking about what we can make when ya'll come in October.
